Choosing a residency program is one of the most important decisions in your medical career, as it will be your home for the next three years. It is essential to select a program that fosters both personal and professional growth. We take pride in fostering strong collegiality among residents and encouraging frequent interactions with our esteemed faculty.
We offer ACGME-accredited residency training programs in three specialties: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Preliminary Medicine Year. All three programs have achieved the distinction of Osteopathic Recognition. Our Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency programs consistently train residents to become outstanding attending physicians.
With over 60 years of dedicated undergraduate and postgraduate training, our program has undergone significant evolution since its establishment in 1944, originally as Suburban Community Hospital, which was formerly known as Riverview Osteopathic Hospital and is now affiliated with Roxborough Memorial Hospital. We have earned a distinguished reputation for delivering comprehensive, high-quality services designed to address the diverse medical needs of our patients.
Trainees in our program benefit from access to a wide array of medical services within our state-of-the-art facility, including the Fox Chase Cancer Center and the Suburban Medical Group Family Medicine Residency Continuity Clinic. Whether managing common medical conditions or addressing more complex cases, we are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience.
Many of our graduates continue their practice at Roxborough Memorial Hospital, Lower Bucks Hospital, or within the surrounding area. Some have also joined our staff and teaching faculty across various specialties, including:
